3 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for grill

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 ½ teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons tomato paste
8 bamboo skewers, soaked in water
4 apricots, pits removed and quartered
